Patients encouraged to confirm treatment schedules, prepare emergency supplies and contact DaVita for assistance

DENVER, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As Hurricane Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast and southeastern United States, DaVita has activated its emergency response plan to help patients continue receiving life-sustaining dialysis care and to support communities preparing for severe weather.

The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall, flooding, storm surge and high winds across portions of the region. DaVita teams are working closely with local care centers, healthcare partners and emergency response agencies to prepare for potential impacts and help patients access treatment safely.

“In preparation for the storm, our priority is ensuring there are no interruptions to patient care by adjusting schedules, preparing our centers to remain safe and operational, and stocking extra supplies,” said Seth Miller, group vice president for DaVita. “In the event of center closures, DaVita’s national emergency management team will support centers in routing patients to locations that can safely provide dialysis care.”

DaVita encourages people receiving dialysis in potentially affected areas to:

  • Confirm upcoming dialysis appointments with their care team.
  • Know the location of alternate treatment centers.
  • Keep medications and emergency contact information readily available.
  • Follow guidance from local emergency management officials.
  • Maintain recommended dietary and fluid restrictions if treatment schedules are disrupted.
  • Charge mobile devices and save important phone numbers in case power or internet service is interrupted.

Patients who need assistance scheduling treatment can contact DaVita Guest Services at 1‑800‑400‑8331. For urgent medical needs, call 911.
